Strength Events

Our strength events are for women of all ages and skill levels to step out of their comfort zone and show their strength. These meets are non-sanctioned and each lifter will have three attempts in squat, bench and/or deadlift to hit a max weight (& PR!).

Divisions do not include weigh-ins and are based on honest self-selection of lifter's experience level. Xpand Your Limits Meets are the perfect opportunity to step outside of your comfort zone, build confidence in competition, meet other women, inspire and cheer each other on, and compete for a cause - no matter your level.

THE DETAILS

01. What is it?

Lifters will compete in squat, bench, and deadlift in a powerlifting meet-style manner.

Each lifter will have 3 attempts at both lifts to reach their maximum lift on each movement.

The total of ALL lifts will be combined for the scoring.

02. When is it & where is it?

We host lifting meets all around the country. Look below for specific dates and locations.

03. Who's it for?

This is for any girl or woman that is looking to step out of her comfort zone and have an amazing time while doing so. MANY of our lifters have not competed in any lifting competition prior to lifting in an Xpand Your Limits, while others have competed in multiple high-level, sanctioned and/or elite events.

05. What are the divisions?

This meet is non-sanctioned and open to ALL levels; our non-showcase meets (like this one) do not include weigh-in's like traditional powerlifting meets. Divisions are based on honest self-selection of lifter's experience level.

Mighty & Mini: <14 years of age & any experience level (must have guardian present)
Beginner but Badass: 0-1 years lifting
Intermediate & Incredible: 1-3 years lifting
Basically a Pro: 3+ years lifting

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be an experienced lifter to participate?

Not at all! We welcome all skill levels and ages here. In fact over 50% of our athletes are first-time competitors! Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned athlete, these events are designed to challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and show yourself your strength. If you can lift the bar, you're ready!

What do I need to bring to this event?

Comfortable workout clothes that allow for movement and won’t restrict you while lifting.
Proper lifting shoes or flat-soled shoes for stability.
A water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the event.
Food/snacks for energy between lifts.
Personal gear like a lifting belt, knee sleeves, or wrist wraps depending on your preference (check events rules & regulations)

What should I expect during this competition?

Expect a structured event with a supportive atmosphere where each lifter performs their lifts according to the competition’s rules. You will have three attempts in each lift (squat, bench press, and deadlift). There will be plenty of breaks between lifts, and your best attempt in each lift will count toward your total score. Be prepared for some downtime as the event progresses, so it’s important to stay focused and energized. Most importantly, the event is about celebrating your strength and achievements, no matter the outcome!

How can I prepare for the event?

We will be launching our XYL training app soon to help you with programming leading up to the event! Be on the look out :)
