Join us for an unforgettable fall weekend in upstate New York as we take 7 women on an inspiring journey to summit Algonquin Peak, the second-highest peak in the state at 5,114 feet. This 8-mile out-and-back hike will challenge you with 3,000 feet of vertical gain, offering breathtaking views every step of the way.

We’ll be staying in a cozy cabin nestled just outside the mountains, with lodging and meals taken care of for the entire weekend. It’s a chance to connect, recharge, and immerse yourself in nature’s beauty, surrounded by stunning fall colors and scenic hikes.

THE DETAILS

01. What is it?

A girl's weekend in the mountains. We will arrive on Friday evening, hike Saturday, and breakfast/wrap up Sunday morning.

We are summiting the second highest peak of New York at 5114ft, Algonquin Peak. This is an out and back hike covering over 8 miles (4 miles out and 4 miles back)with 3000ft of vertical gain. This hike will be led by Guide ADK that has extensive experience leading hikes.

You will have lodging and food provided for you. You are responsible for travel to and from the cabin, as well as your preferred snacks and hydration for the hike.

Friday, October 3rd: Arrival

Saturday, October 4th: Summit Algonquin Peak + Dinner
Sunday, October 5th: Breakfast + Wrap Up

This is for any women looking to be adventurous this fall and challenge themselves to new heights (literally).

2 night, 3 day stay lodging in a cozy cabin in the mountains (Friday night, Saturday, Sunday morning)

07. What do I need to bring?

REQUIRED

  • Backpack (25-30L)

  • Water (at least 2L, plus a way to purify if needed)

  • Snacks (trail mix, energy bars, etc.)

  • Headlamp (with extra batteries)

  • Phone (in case of emergency)

  • ID/Insurance card (for safety)

  • Moisture-wicking base layer (top & pants)

  • Insulating layer (fleece or lightweight jacket)

  • Waterproof jacket (windproof too)

  • Hiking boots (comfortable, waterproof)

  • Socks (wool or synthetic, extra pair)

  • Hat (for sun or warmth)

  • Gloves (if hiking in colder months)

  • First aid kit (band-aids, blister treatment, pain relievers)

  • Sunscreen (SPF 30+)

  • Insect repellent (seasonal)

  • Whistle (for emergencies)

Our XYL team is working on a hiking training program that will launch later this year to prepare those for the Hike ADK adventure. This will be on the XYL training app.

HIKE LED BY GUIDE ADK

Guide ADK provides top-tier guiding services that raise the standard for what a guided experience should be. Their guides are certified and educated beyond the basic requirements of the NYS licensed guide program. They are, at a minimum, Wilderness First Aid certified and are trained in Leave No Trace™ to ensure they can lead ethical and sustainable outings.

How do I know if I'm ready?

This will require training ahead of time. As long as you adequately prepare via our training program you will have success. This is not a competition, but an event where we will all work together to summit the peak.

Do I need to bring my own food and water?

Yes! Make sure to bring enough water (at least 2L) and high-energy snacks like trail mix, energy bars, or fruit. We'd recommend also packing a lunch. Always stay hydrated and bring extra in case of delays.
