My Garage Gym Isn't Finished… But I Started Anyway
This past weekend, I finished moving into my new home and started building out my garage gym again.
Right now, it looks more like an open space with five pairs of dumbbells, weight plates stacked on the floor, and a rack that isn't fully assembled yet.
A lot of people would look at that and think,"It's not ready yet. I'll start training again once the rack is up and I can do everything I want."
But instead of letting that lie lead me to procrastinate, I asked myself,"What can I do with what's available?"
I can slow down my reps if I don't have heavy enough weights.
I can do a dumbbell-only workout—which can still kick my butt.
I can get creative with bodyweight movements or throw in an EMOM.
I can make the most of what I have right now, and that in itself is a win.
Don't let perfectionism get in the way of progress.
Progress is still progress—even if it isn't perfect along the way.

What I think
Perfectionism is often procrastination in disguise.
It's your brain whispering,"If it's not perfect, why even bother?"
It can feel like having high standards—and there's nothing wrong with pursuing excellence.
Until those standards become the very thing keeping you from taking action.
Perfectionism isn't a badge of honor.
I know because I've had to fight that battle myself.
I'd tell myself:
"It's not ready yet."
"Once I finish this, then I'll start."
But if I'm honest, it usually wasn't about being prepared.
It was fear.
Fear of taking action.
Fear of what other people might think.
Fear of doing the hard work that growth requires.
Perfectionism was just the excuse.
The truth is, progress has never required perfection.
It only requires movement.
Take the messy action.
Launch before you feel completely ready.
Post before it's perfect.
Start with what you have.
Because messy action will always move you farther than perfect intentions.
Progress beats perfection every single time.
The one degree shift
Go do something "ugly" this week.
Do the thing you've been putting off because you know you won't be great at it yet.
Do it even if it isn't polished.
Do it even if it feels awkward.
Do it even if it doesn't turn out exactly how you imagined.
Because that's what progress looks like.
The people who grow the fastest aren't the ones who wait until they're ready.
They're the ones willing to look inexperienced long enough to become exceptional.
So this week, embrace the ugly.
Your future self will thank you for it.

Life has been moving fast.
Between moving into a new home, building out my garage gym, and navigating a lot behind the scenes, Seek the Edge had to take a back seat for a couple of weeks.
But... we're back.
I finally sat down behind the mic to share everything that's happened over the past month—the highs, the challenges, what God's been teaching me, and what's next.
I'm excited to be back and can't wait to bring you along for this next season.
